    Thanks Phillip,

As it's on 102km and due a service I think I am in effect going to do the 120k km service now and change the plugs and leads aswell.

As I am going to swap to the 8mm leads, I will need to drop the plenum so I may aswell change the rocker gaskets too especially after looking at the pics Kieren posted on his link.

Found the metal gasket, cheers, ERR6221

If you haven't bypassed the throttle body heater yet, it would be worth replacing that gasket as well.

mine need doing also. I thought once you'd practice on yours you could do mine also, but Gold Coast is a bit far to travel.
The De-icer is a common leak area, drips L/R brought out a different replacement part to over come this.

Can anyone point me to the tutorial for changing the V8 Rocker Cover Gaskets. (sorry Pedro, I did search, really ..)

At 230k km would this also be the best time to replace the coil packs and leads, even though the car runs perfectly??

    Any advice welcome. Ta.

I have highjacked the tutorial (excellent tutorial) a bit here and added some more notes. (Didn't use a torque wrench).

The only other thing I remember from the exercise were the bolts in the rocker cover were a unusual size, changed from a from 1/4 drive to a 1/2 with the same socket and worked perfectly. Just suss this out before you're up to your proverbial's.

I also struggle with the search function.

    Regards
    Andrew

This is a great site, I managed to find one of those rare 12pt 8mm 1/4" drive Deep Sockets for under $7 at "All Tools" in Elizabeth (last one) and nipped up the 4 RC bolts I could see without removing the Inlet Manifold and all the works.

So far so good, no more weeping oil.

    Thanks everyone on AULRO
