This may sound completely stupid, but it's not so ridiculous, being a Land Rover. When you got your 4.6 fitted (as I did) did the workshop fit a new Mass Air Flow sensor?
It's not well known, but if the MAF is out of spec, aside from rich/lean bank errors which can be seen via an OBDII scanner, the faulty MAF will also cause transmission errors.
Plug a scanner like ScanGauge II to your Disco and see if you pick up any rich/lean bank issues and if so, replace the MAF. It might (a long bow here!) possibly solve your transmission issues.
