    D2 Front bar's

    Hey all,

I'm currently looking into changing from my current ARB steel bar to something a bit slimmer.

The look i'm going for is something like this http://www.roveracks.com/images/Disco_II/100_2351.JPG but without the hoops ontop, so just the lower bit, so i can still fit a winch and something to put the spotlights on.

Does anyone know where I can find something like this? Preferably in QLD...

    Cheers,
    Shamo

    Shamo,

That's a 'Safarigard' bumper from a guy called Casey in the States. They are a great looking bumper, but i don't think he's in production anymore. Also these things aren't ADR compliant and he was a bit hit n miss with ordering. You could also look at the Rovertym bumpers as well, very similar design and i know these are available but am pretty sure that they're not legal here in Australia. The guys at Rovertym are quite helpfull though so worth checking out.

    here is a link:

    Welcome to Rovertym!

    Cheers

Yeah I was looking at photo's of yours, wanna give it to me? haha. I would do it to mine but the ARB sticks out way too far at the bottom, the TJM is ideal i reckon. Will just have to keep on the lookout for one i guess, preferably like how you bought yours with the top poles bent.

the top poles on mine were fine it was the lower skirt in the middle that was damaged. Doesnt matter the centre is getting all chopped out for the winch cradle soon

The TJM ones do bend very easily, but whatever you want. I'm pretty sure that either ARB or TJM (I think its AR manufacture a version of their bullbar without the hoops. Its for export markets, but maybe if that something which you want they may sell them locally on order.

I originally ran a TJM on the front of mine. It was always a bit out of shape after every trip to the bush. Then i hit an AUDI at about 40kms /hr and my bar and car sustained more damage than the AUDI. I put the ARB on after that and have banged it a few times against rocks n things and the only thing i've replaced have been bent crush cans (once). Which is better than a new bar or worse... a bent chassis which is what can happen with solid fixed bars like the Safarigard's etc.

    Cheers

Yes, but not the same design.

Personally i prefer the look of the TJM, but sometimes function over form is what takes the prize.

Do you reckon it's those uprights on the arb George (I too prefer the look of the tjm and the approach angle of it). Cheers
