    Transfer Case Rebuilds

My transfer case leaks like a sieve, so I've decided to have it rebuilt just to be sure everything is hunky-dory.

Who do you recommend for a rebuild in Sydney?

Also, I've checked in the workshop manual and can find no reference for this...
There is what appears to be a weight of some kind in between the handbrake drum and the rear of the TC.
This is loose and rattling. It's like a block and it's clearly visible sitting just
before the handbrake drum when viewed from the RHS of the car.

Does anyone know what this is, what it does and how I go about fixing it?

I would normally recommend Awards at Seven Hills straight away but his standards lately seem to be a little lower than they usually are.

ATV at Strathfield might be a better bet. If they can't do it, they'll know someone who can.

Coopers are another option but they're a bit further away.

Most times the T-box leaks from either the Output seals or the bottom cover plate, both are simple DIY fixes.

As far as the balance weight goes, just tighten it up again.

Ah sweet. On closer inspection it appears to have lost a nut so I'll have to find something to suit.

Might use a little Loctite on it too.

    Just had mine re-built.
Make sure you get the CDL thrust washers done, the TC system is fairly harsh on them.Mine had the bearings and seals done. The engage dogs on the high speed gear were also damaged so it had to be replaced.
Yet to leak oil,ASSUMING IT WAS REFILLED
All the backlash I had in the driveline is now gone
    Goodluck.

    Hi Andy

Curious to know how many K's had it down?
