Did you want something like this for your D2

I have a question. The specs for the factory D2 Td5 battery is 110 Ah. D34 Optima's are 55 Ah each. So what is the benefit spending time and money for no Ah gain?
I do realize that Optima is a better technology and having two batteries protects the starting battery, but in my experience more than 55 Ah is needed in summer for the fridge and the starting battery capacity has been halved.
I am in need of aux battery for my D2a so I am exploring all options.
Dave.
I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
1983 RR gone (wish I kept it)
1996 TDI ES.
2003 TD5 HSE
1987 Isuzu County
Not many factory batterys left these days
No honestly carl runs the red top for his starter no probs , I had 2 yellow tops sitting there so no brainer why i went that way.
My D2a had a silly little aux batt on the fire wall that would not run the engel for a day.
I have had no operating dramas with running the yellow top since in stalled
