Thanks Rod. Yep, I've read that thread already. The ebay blank key and FOB is a good option, I just need to confirm what frequency they are and also the frequency of the car.
I'm guessing it'll be 315 given it's a 99 model, but who knows what's been done to it in the past.

I've already got the EKA code, have a functioning FOB and a key, I'd just like to have two complete FOB/keys. I'm picky like that.

I rang MLR earlier and they confirmed what I thought. Around $220 for each key/FOB and then booking it into the service department to have it cut and programmed.
So that'll be well over $300 for a bloody key. Sheesh.

The dealer should be able to tell you what frequency your car is via the VIN. Once you know, order a blank key & fob from somewhere like Ebay.

IIRC - if someone has a Nanocom, they should be able to program it for you, or just get the dealer to do that bit.

Brilliant. That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. Hopefully there's someone in Melbourne that has a nanocom. If not, the costs are looking considerably reduced by getting the dealer to do just the reprogramming for me.
