    boost modulator question

Is it a bad thing to bypass the modulator? Ive just done it to mine to see what happens, it seems heaps more responsive off the line and there is much less lag there through the rev range. It hasnt over boosted, can the ECU still detect this if it is disconnected????
Does it have any effect on fuel consumption apart from flooring it , and throwing itdown the exhaust yrself??

    cheers

The Defender doesn't have a wastegate modulator, so it shouldn't affect the Disco being bypassed, the wastegate rod determins what the boost is set at, but if you want to increase the boost, I would install a boost gauge, for peace of mind and to make sure you don't run it to high, I have my boost set at 18psi, running a TD5Alive boost box and boost gauge.
