What is the rpm at 100km/hr? And as mentioned before what tyre size are you running?

Thanks for the constructive and very helpful post phil...I feel better now.

For the record, a search of the thread revealled nothing about MAP sensor. It also revealled the OP was "thinking" about doing the egr. There was also a lot of "pontification" about other elements of the list. Now, I dont question your experience, but if your desire is to "flame" those giving advice, perhaps you should hand in your attitude. In fact, your avatar is condescending as well. If you'd like some clearer guidance as to what I think of your attitude, happy to take it off line. Perhaps we should get a moderator in, just to make sure we both understand the objective of this forum....you know, "helping others".

Oh, almost forgot...have to chuck in a condescending closing,

    "Cheers" Phil!

    2 stroke Oil in diesel

    I use 200:1 ratio

Results vary on different 2 Stroke Oils,

I am currently using Castrol but only because i can buy it in bulk...

best results is Penrite semi synth...

also Valvoline in the rodeo had a huge increase in power....

I am getting an 10L/100KM on city driving

    highway would be less....

the problem with diesel is that it doesn't have sulphur any more to do the lubricating now diesel is very dry and does not lubricate injectors pumps etc....

If you want to prolong the life of your fuel pumps use 2 Stroke oil, if you have a noisy pump it will definitely quite down.

    Do a google search,

mercedes benz Mechanics in Germany use 2 stroke oil in there Diesel merc's when testing it improves diesel quality and LUBRICATES!!

personally i would say you are crazy not to run 2 stroke oil mix....

MY D2 still has original fuel pump 240,000km....

one way you might be able to tell is have a look at the locating stud on the front pass side of the head and see where it is in relation to the hole in the head. my head had shifted to the rear of the block making this stud rub hard up against the front of this hole, the stud actually left thread marks in the hole...

    cheers phil

    Phil,

The stud seems to be slightly off-centre. Was the photo taken before or after the head shift? I'm wondering is this what a shifted head looks like or is it normal assembly tolerance?

it was slightly bent when i put it back in, but its pretty close. its easier to see if you take the nut off and see where the stud is sitting in relation to the hole. with the dowles fitted the stud should be smack bang in the center of the hole in the head.

    cheers phil
