    Hole in the roof

    hi

Got a series II disco 2003.

Been a bit of rain lately and just noticed some water in the back. Jumped up to look at the seals around the top of the rear window and found a little square hole in the centre of the roof at the rear.

Looks like it used to have some sort of rubber bit stuck in there. Anyone know what it was?

    Cheers

    Gags,
There should be a domed rubber type grommet on the outside of the roof.
It is not used in our market, but should be covered.

    Cheers.

    Thanks sniegy.

I had a recollection of seeing but couldnt be 100%. One of those things that you kind of notice but dont take it in because its of no use.........until its gone and its raining.

Should be fun trying to order one of those parts....."I need one of them rubber grommet things to plug the hole in the roof"

    Anyway thanks again much appreciated

    Thanks Scouse.......

Not quite sure who you meant when you said "the man above" - almost thought you were telling me to pray.

Anyway if you (or anyone else) know the part number I would really appreciate it if you could let us know.

We live out of town so have to do quite a bit of this stuff over the phone or web and it can get a bit difficult.

Anyway - thanks for any help you can give

    You need XUL000010.

It's actually secured by a nut from inside the roof so it's strange that yours has come off.

    thanks

yep very strange. we are wondering if some little ****er ripped it off in a car park somewhere.....cant see any other way. Although the daily school run is over a few fairly choice bumpy roads so maybe just worked itself free.

Anyway - thanks again for the help. Got the magic tape, and will order the part today
