will the compressor touch any of the plastic trim......only asking s i'm not sure how hot the compressor gets
hi all, just posting some pics of a new portable arb air compressor removed from its tool box and trying to fit into cargo area. removed p/side cargo bin and am attaching to the side steel bar. this protrudes approx 5cm from the outer panel (skin). so i am now trying to extend back the steel bar (black one in photo) to gain 5cm more space. its a tight squeeze but hoping it will fit. Anyone else tried this. cheers![]()

Why not mount it under the drivers seat ? The ARB on board version is a perfect fit - bolts straight in and goes where the CD stacker would. I can post some pics if this would help.

I mounted mine in the same position except on the drivers side. Mine was a 7 seater originally so i had the benefit of the mounts for the seat to use. The bin is massive and the comp has tons of space around it. I open the top of the bin when airing up tires but it gets more then enough air to hit the lockers.

Got mine mounted under the hood behind the battery... Switches are on the Dash in an ARB bracket where the coin train would be...Will sort out a picture this evening..

Under bonnet rear nearside. They do get hot. Just a tip....to stop dirt/grit etc getting into where the hose clips on, get one of these....a walking stick tip...Clark rubber.

I put the high output ARB compressor in behind the rear left trim. Its actually mounted on the rear steel bar in there, not sure how big it is compared to the one that normally comes in the box, but with a bit of adjustment of the compressor brackets etc it fits very well and does not interfere with the trim. Supplied from the rear fuse box (in piccy) by 10mm cable from the aux batt.
I had considered the rear storage bins, but they are far to useful to carry all your other gear so getting it behind the trim was a must. In the engine bay was a no go as well as aux batt is in there. No way I would want it under my seat (to noisy lol).
To use it for tyres I just remove the grille and plug the air line in. the connector is angled up so it makes it easy to connect / disconnect.
Switches mounted in the dash in a land rover switch carrier under the "six pack". Have not tried my rear locker yet, still running in new diff, but the weekend coming will be play time![]()
