My shopping list for the new D2 :-)

    Hey all,

I'm gathering quotes and scouring fleaBay to grab the few essentials I need to get our new D2 up to par for the family trips to the park across the road. If anyone sees anything that might be worth me checking out (bargains used items etc) please let me know.

    Here's what I'm chasing:

    1) Roof rack: 2000x1240 Rhino alloy tray + 3 bars/legs. Also been looking at the Dolium/Windcheater platform rack 2.2m Any comments?

    2) 6x4 Box trailer. Cheap. Half decent. Roadworthy. Prefer more than 3 leaf springs but will take whatever comes really.

    3) Safari Snorkel + Fitting. RFM4x4 have 10% off these till end of month, but fitting is $$$$. Looking for better deals. Anywhere you recommend?

    Cheers

    Wil

Hmmm. That's probably beyond my comfort zone. Don't have the gear to cut big holes in my D2 neatly. And would probably stuff it up. Lol. Opposite lock just quoted me a better price installed.

Roof racks.... don't go rhino, get some rola racks the heavy duty 230mm type. They sit nice & close to the roof, you don't need to mod them (like you would with the 210mm rhino... check other threads). Plus check Repco they did have them 40% off retail prices. I got a set of 3 just before xmas for under $220.

    Cheers

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I'll check out Repco /Rola. I was intending to get the 2000x1240 alloy tray from rhino though, and that will probably dictate which ones I end up getting :-( as it fits directly into the channel of the crossbar in the racks. $220 is much better than $560 .

If I was you I would fit a Mantec snorkel, you can get them from Lucky8 in the states. Easy to fit (Urban_Panzer has a tutorial on his website) and it looks sooooooooo much better then the chunky safari items.
