TD5 Injector harness
I realise this question has been asked many times before (only been on this forum a few months) and I have had a look at THE GOOD OIL but the link seems to have expired.
I would like to see a picture if possible of a sealed up injector harness, one somemone has done themselves so I can do the same with one of ours. I need to save money and want to seal it myself, at the moment I'm just cleaning the plug at the ECU every week or so.
Any help appreciated

You dont need a picture....the harness is easy to remove. Remove the valve cover, the harness just pulls off.
Best results achieved with new harness, as your old one has oil in the wire moving via capillary action.
If you must use the old, clean it, let it dry, then fill the back of the plug with an oil resistant sealer.

Maybe you have a problem with your computer or account.

I thought the oil will be in the harness that runs from the injector harness plug to the ecu plug, if I'm sealing the plug inside the rocker cover. Changing the harness under the rocker cover stops oil getting into the harness from plug to plug outside the engine, and that is why they suggest cleaning the red plug for a few months following.

Having just done this job, it is easy as, except trying to get the rocker cover back on with a new rubber gasket in place. As soon as you try and fit it back on the gasket falls out and you have to start over again. In the end put a few dobs of silicon goop to stick it to the cover prior to fitting.
It looks like my old one (loom) had been bogged up with silicon already but it was the 2 o-rings that seal the plug through the head that were leaking oil so you would need to do these o-rings too if yours is leaking oil. Not sure how important the little seals are that are in the individual injector connectors but I suspect that these will leak a little oil too if old, but that would obviously just be around the injectors not the plug to the ECU. Given the reasonable price for a new loom I would just go a new one if I ever have to do it again.
Anyway with a new one in place and having washed out and air blown out the red connector at the ECU it is running sweet.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I first looked at the plugs on the injectors on mine. Unplugged the connector but couldn't help but notice the wires were loose in the plug.
Wiped down the plug to discover the back of the connector was loose. Closer inspection revealed another connector that holds the pins and comes out! It isn't sealed there but the main injector plug is...... Kind of stupid really.
Going to order a new loom and wait and see what plugs are on it.
If they're the same, it's United Fuel Injection for new EV connectors with cable seals.
Cheers

Jobs done. Pretty easy. Bit fiddly with the gasket at the back, didn't help any with new engine mounts holding it closer to the firewall either, but all good, used a new gasket as well. Decided to go with a MR Auto sealed harness rather than muck around, but will probably seal the old one now I've seen one up close and keep as a spare??. So really I only saved on labour but hey $100 or close to is still $100.
