Yes I have seen IceFyre's set up to and can vouch for it also. I'll buy one off you Icefrye and keep this motor for when my window motor goes south.

Now I will have to get off my backside and put some kits together. Once I do I will contact Dave and get Vendor Privileges to do the right thing. Will let you know as soon as I do.

Btw Mark any update on those Watts Link mods you were designing ?

Had one fitted by them about a year ago. I did have an initial issue in that one of the connections was not fitted correctly. Took it back next day and all ok.

Whichever you chose, cut the red wire to the SLABS ECU behind the glove box. If not sure, ask
Drown it in water a few times and you will find the electric motor will rust up and eventually it won't work. Many people have been down this road and found this. For a few dollars more the manual linkag is the way to go.

I find that my stainless steel flat bar linkage under the car is the way to go (if your a tight arse like me).
Made from scrap, it's totally reliable, and you only have to get out of the car twice on a trip. I leave the cdl on continuously when off-road.
Having said that, I'm thinking about mounting a small air cylinder to the handle, to drive it in and out.....
.....as soon as I decide where and how to mount my compressor.
    The work never ends.

    Good thread!
Think I'll talk to the guys at AMV and find out what I can do to upgrade the electric CDL. if its seals and gears I can probably work on improving them or reverse engineering something else to suit out of a more appropriate material.

My D2 has an AMV CDL, but it has never worked since I bought it. I don't know if I can remove it, do I need a new cover or something for the top where the electric motor is?

    Hi Jeff,

Yes, it can be removed. No cover is required as it will sit on top of the standard spigot.

Access is quite restricted getting to the top of the transfer case, usually obtained by removing the centre console and working down.

Hence I would wait until I had a CDL cable actuator to install as the console will need to come out to fit it.

    Cheers
    Ron

Just to let you know there is a member of the UK forums called T62 that manufactures and sells diff lock linkages on his website. He had a couple of minor issues on the original batch but he has it all sorted now. I have one installed and it is superb. His design is based on the Ashcroft one as far as I know.
Here is the link to his site.

    DiscoveryTD5.com CDL linkage

I've just been in touch with Jay regarding his CDL linkage. He currently has about 5 in stock, and they work out at around $335AU shipped at the current exchange rates.

    cheers
    Paul
