I am trying to get these off and I'll be bugged if I can work out how to get these off.

I just can't work out how to get the fitting off on the cooler end of the hose.

    Cheers

    Hi Matt,

As mention previously these fittings are like a garden hose. The black plastic ring is used to pull back on the internal claws and allow the hose fitting to be slid back off the pipe.

It takes about three hands to get the job done and there is room for half a hand... It is a real pain, especially if there is build up of gunk around the fitting.

You need to pull back on the plastic ring and at the same time push, pull and twist on the hose until it releases. Once you work it out the other 3 will be a lot easier.

From memory, you may have to rotate the plastic ring until you detect a point where it can slide back into a groove.

    Cheers

Try pushing the hose further onto the fitting while pulling the outer ring back (yeah right he says) If the hose is pulled back the teeth may not be able to release from the lumpy bit in the pipe they engage behind.

Yep, tried all of that and more as I have somehow put a whole in the oil cooler. now I don't need to get them off as I can cut them and remove the cooler.

Can the coolers be repaired? It looks alloy so I don't think so.

    hhmmm back to the shed.

    Matt
