Thread: XROX Front Bars

With every style bar there will be a compromise of some sort, and it really would depend on your main use to decide which is best. I've hit a kangaroo at 100kph dead middle of a toyota bar on a hilux, the headlights were broken from their mounts due to the bar bending back into the bonnet, my driving lights were destroyed but I was able to keep driving because the radiator was not damaged. To me this is the most critical issue when looking at frontal protection and animal strikes. Many new bullbar designs feature upswept tapered wings so it seems to be a trend, and there is many theories to which is best, I have been told of kangaroos that have ended up going over bonnet and into cab of vehicle endangering occupants, when I hit the roo it bounced forwards and then straight under and out. I think if you wanted bulletproof protection against animal strikes for high speed touring you would look at getting a tuffbar like the ones they have on B & S utes.

I was wondering what price people are actually paying for the XROX bar?

Seen a few different prices stated.I am interested in one and just looking to see if I can get the money together.

The quote I got today from my local OL shop was $1250 for the bar and $300 for the install which included painting some areas that would be newly revealed due to the new front shape and a few little things to do with the install. Total $1550.

Hi Mate,
I was charged $1150 in vic, it was extra $150 for freight from WA, I will install myself it is apparently pretty straight forward (I already have my bumper removed). I paid an extra $50 for lightforce wiring loom to go with free driving lights, so all up $1200.

The free driving lights is a good deal too. Are they 240XGT's? of 170's????

Thats why I like my TJM winch bar - its straight up and down with no sweep whatsoever. I have hit one roo and as expected it was straight out and then under.

I like my ARB bar for the same reason however the approach angle is rather ordinary.
