2004 Td5 Auto. Purchased at 120k. Have tracked useage for last 30,000km fill to fill ... almost 2yrs. Long term average is 11.95L/100Km. That's on/offroad,beach/dunes/bush. Maybe 75/25 split on/off road. Pretty happy with that. It's a 2T truck! ... with style :D

Best was 9.03L/100Km on a 954km trip, highway @ limit (86L .. could have gone 1050km)
Worst was 18.42L/100Km in sand dunes at stockton (aulro weekend out), lightly loaded, driving more agressivley than usual :twisted: (measured fill/start end/fill). That frreaked me out a bit :eek:
Running around home/local area (80k limit/7-10-15k each way trips) around 13-14L/100Km. Not much chance for the torque converter to lock up.
Tyres are 255*70/16 (+4%). EGR gone. Wastegate adjusted to 20psi. Rhino Racks/tray/foxwing up top. Fridge in back. No barwork.
The Disco (03 man, 135k) gets between 8.85 l/100km (best hwy - got it just last week) and 13.something doing stop-start/short local trips.
On the other hand, Neptune (06 def, 45k) usually gets between 10-11l/100 around town, with the worst being 13.5 from towing 1.5t at 100km/h. Best has been 9.1, again hwy, but the main climb section was done at 60-70 on b-roads.
Both are standard tunes, no extra tanks, bars, etc. Roof bars only used on an as-needed basis, so that difference isn't recorded.

I do drive it pretty tamely
8.5 to 9 l/100 on the highway (measured over the last 20,000 km). Aircon always on, family always in or on car.
Roughly 12 in town (but up to as high as 14 when the good lady is driving it. She has no tolerance for turbo lag at all, so just plants the foot ...).
Roughly 12 when towing a 1.5 T boat on the highway.
Best economy at around 90 kmh.
always use Vortex, as that is what the local petrol racketeer stocks ...
Over the Easter long weekend my auto D2a, with standard size wheels, roof platform with a load about 300-400mm high, young family of four and otherwise loaded to the brim returned 13.7 l/100 over about 1000km. Terrain was hilly highway at 70-100km/hr, lots of sand and bush tracks with some low range tooling about too.
I run BP diesel with 200:1 2 stroke oil and the engine is totally stock with 86000km.
I generally get about 11-12 l/100 fanging around town. On a highway run with just people on board it will do about 10 but I have seen high 8's.
My other LR is a 90 RRC and it usually does about 21 fanging around town and much the same on a mountainous Easter trip. The D2 is a brilliant vehicle: it has heaps of storage space, the SLS keeps it level with changing loads, the ACE keeps it all under control and it's just really nice to drive. Goes anywhere off road too. Yep, I'm pretty happy with it.
I think 9-13 is what they do, depending on how you drive them. If you get into them around town they go to the high end. Ours has no fault codes, Bernadette drives it really, and she is on and off the throttle all the time. Get's better if I drive it. But even so 12 is way less than my V8 uses.
For what it's worth - 1999 TD5 manual, no mods, 210000kms with data over past 25K:
Best hwy: 7.9L/100kms (100km/hr, driver, empty)
Avg hwy: 9.0L/100kms (110km/hr, driver, empty)
Worst hwy: 11.0L/100kms (110+km/hr, driver, passenger, back full, aircon)
Recent 900km Trip hwy/offroad (60/40): 11.0L/100kms (off road 2/3 gear, occasional low range, driver, passenger, dog (mini foxi :D ), back full)
City: 10.00L/100kms (consistent)
I do oil every 5000kms, but aircleaner every 2500kms.... and every time it has needed it !! I seem to be picking up a lot of crap off the roads around Canberra.

Some days hard, others I take it easy... Strong headwinds or strong tail winds... All too variable to measure IMO.
And when it's running low I throw in some more ;)
Lately I don't get mpg or l/100km anyway... My economy is 155l per 3 months...... The ONLY upside of a Toyota Hilux work vehicle!!!
Mine, a 2000 mdl TD5 auto 190k no engine mods, only weighty mods are full length rack, second battery,rear shovel holder. stock size BFG A/T's. Usually fill it to the top of the neck. I have gotten 10ish when I first got it but cant seem to get that now. Seems to get around 12/100k, I think about 800ish km out of a tank depends on the variables. I am envious to those getting 9 or 10's. I recently got back from a trip towing a 19ft full height 2t van with the car loaded up as well and was getting around 500 - 550 out of around 92 litres depending on wind/hills and sitting between 85 and 100km/h so I dont know if that is good or not. I feel mine is a bit rich normal driving and would love to get better than that.

I will add my contribution about fuel consommation... I have a TD5 Def 110.
Since 70000 km, i had use 9,6 l/100.
These is about the inbord km totaliser, i write all fuel a buy, the price, the KM and liters... in an excel file !!!
But if you made a differrent with a GPS (so the real Total KM you drive) you may add 5%...
So you really will have 10,08 l/100 (that is good for a 2T vehicule).
