I don't mind a bit of tinkering, but ultimately I want a car as a daily driver and it needs to be fairly sound.
Most of the D2's I'm looking at are getting up around 200K so I'm expecting to do the 40,000km oil and filter regime, plus all cooling hoses in the short term on what ever I end up buying. The "to do list" on this one is a bit too long for the $13,500 asking price.

The previous owner definitely didn't do "Option B", and the doubt the current owner has done it.

I did offer him $10,500 if he fixed the Ritter listed RWC issues, but he felt that was unreasonable

A bit too hard - I'd look further.

Sounds to me you are being more than fair and he is bit dodgy, probably a lot dodgy actually. The rubber stamps can be copied fairly easily, I remember doing it at Uni to avoid paying cover charge at the Uni club up at Woomba...yeah bad stuff, should be locked up.

Stick with the 10.5k and that's being generous.

Personally I would be looking elsewhere.

    Regards
    Andrew

I'm definitely leaving this one for someone else.

I'm going to look at another D2 tomorrow. I test drove it just before Easter then got distracted by the subject of this thread. This one doesn't have any of the towing/off-road mods, which I suspect isn't a bad thing.

NOTE: The test report for this car and identifying information have been removed. I'm happy to send to anyone who might be interested, please send me a PM.

    Good move in looking elsewhere.

This one sounds like there are too many things wrong. That with questionable selling techniques should certainly send off alarm bells.

    Plenty more to choose from!
