Thread: gutter mount for antenna

Anywhere you can buy 2 way radios should have them on the shelf.

Might pay to try your local Dick Smith shop or similar. Fairly sure that Jaycar would have them too.

The normal gutter mounts both generic and GME branded ones don't fit onto D2 gutters. The plastic moulding is too high. you could trim it but.....

Okay so Jaycar do not sell them anymore but I will be calling up Time Plus in Brunswick and ording in a gutter mount that is suppost to mount to my D2 (supposedly, i will confirm monday).


Is that the case mattyg? Are there any mounts available then for D2's?

Yeah unfortunatey, I wanted to gutter mount mine too. Wouldn't fit. All the ones I have seen are the same design- probably from the same factory. If you have a roof rack or crossbars on the roof rails you could mount it there. With either the rack manufactures antenna mount or a mirror mount clamped onto it. Otherwise you could z bracket on bonnet. OR on the roof toward the back is a black bung. If you drop the interior roof lining from the back end you can unscrew this bung and mount an antenna directly on the roof which is what I have done with my fm antenna to replace the ****ty window antenna on the disco. Just depends what you want to do. If you do find a gutter mount that suits, post the details on here for us all.

You say the plastic moulding is too high for D2. How would you suggest trimming it?
