Thread: Buying a TD5 D2, what to look out for?

I think most people who have spent some time reading the forum would be wise to the wallet rape the stealers perform when it comes to fuel pressure regulators and harnesses.

A Genuine LR fuel reg is under $200 from the UK, although you'd need to add shipping to that. If you are handy with car mechanicing you can buy the o-rings and repair the regulator for about $30.

Similarly Genuine LR Injector harness is about $80 from the UK, and very easy to change.

Being new to AULRO and to Discoverys, (well 4X4s too,) I have spent many enjoyable hours reading up whatever I can on this excellent site. I this afternoon Googled "Land rover Td5 engine images" and in no time found WWW.discovery.com.uk this is new to me and I found some basic DIYs such as installing injector copper washer type seals and O rings, the two types of oil filters, installing the injector loom etc. All very easy, can't wait to start ordering bits and confirm myself as a Disco Devotee.
