Battery N70Z
can i use a century N70Z battery as a replacement for my cranking battery? Manual says a 31 series, and currently has a Supercharge MF31-931. What other cranking battery replacements are possible to use? I thought about an Optima yellow or red top.
Cheers

Just reading back some older battery posts, I noticed people using a Bluetop for cranking. I have on of the larger bluetops for an aux battery, but might be good for a cranker as well.

Measure the hole , then measure the battery. If it fits it is OK, but I do not think it will.
Make sure if you do not have the car there that you get the correct terminals at each end.

On that basis my house alarm battery will fit...
A blue top is fine as a cranking battery but if you are looking to go to dual batteries you are better off pairing yellowtops. You can squeeze a pair of optimas into the std space.

My Supercharge MF31-931 had cacked it's pants, after 5 hours of charging it was still under 11 volts. I had a spare Century N70z in the shed, which was actually a little smaller than the Supercharge. I installed it this afternoon, which will hopefully get me by until i can get a replacement. Seemed to start ok, and had a good charge on the multimeter.

N70Z will be fine, it's a pretty big batery and as long as you're not fridging, winching, spotlighting, massive stereoing at the same time you'll be fine.

The N70Z is a smaller capacity battery compared to your current one, maybe not your current one.
670CCA versus 950CCA. Yes, it should still be good enough to start the engine. I have been looking at getting a Supercharge MF31-931 for mine.
Cheers
