If You bought the maf locally take it back to them for warranty.
Have you cleaned the current one and if so what with?
Check the pins on the plug on the harness end make sure they are clean and not pushed back.
Cheers. Michael.
HI THERE,
I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY ECU KEEPS LOGGING A FAULT WHICH IS: AIR FLOW CIRCUIT CURRENT. I THINK THIS RELATES TO THE MAF, ALTHOUGH I AM CONSTANTLY CLEANING IT AND I REPLACED THE UNIT PROBABLY 15,000KS AGO, SEEMS LIKE IT HAS GONE AGAIN???? IT IS A SIEMANS UNIT AND YOU WOULD EXPECT ONLY THE BEST BECAUSE IT'S MADE IN GERMANY!
I'VE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE REVS SLIGHTLY HIGHER WHICH MAKES THE GEAR CHANGES SLIGHTLY HARDER.
CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS FOR ME
CHEERS
BRONSON

It was purchased from the ACT I think, Ive cleaned it numerous times with CRC electrical component cleaner and MAF cleaner for the hotwires. I havn't checked the pins yet, will do.
Starting to think that maybe the air box sensor or possibly the manifold sensor??
I have always sprayed the pins when cleaning these sensors also. I do get an improvement straight away, but quickly it goes back to the way it was performing.

Hi
Well Ive solved my issue with the Maf. As I thought it needed replacing unfortunately, special thanks to Ray and Daniel at Romsey Land Rover, you couldn't find a nicer bunch of blokes that know exactly what they are talking about, and dont want to charge you the earth! The disco drives better, smoother and I can actually slip between gear changes easily.
cheers
