			LT230 - front & rear output bearings

A quick question regarding the LT230.

Mine has a leak from somewhere, so I thought I'd start collecting all the parts needed to perform a bit of a refrub.

So far I'm looking at getting a transfer case oil seal and gasket set (RTC3890) which should cover the oil seals for the output shaft, the o rings for the intermediate shaft, the gasket(s) for the rear bearing housing, bottom plate... e.t.c.
Also looking at replacing the bearings for the front & rear output shaft (STC1130).

As far as the bearings go, I can't figure out if they need to be packed with grease upon re-install, or if the oil in the transfer box takes care of lubing them.
I've seen one site which suggested packing them with grease and lubing the seal, yet another site made no mention of greasing. I was also reasonably sure that the seals needed to be insterted dry?? Is anyone able to confirm??

I'm reasonably sure that these componets will tackle most oil leaks that come from the transfer case, but can any recommend anything else that I should be covering, ordering? Any recommended sealant paste?

Finally, will I be able to do all of this with the case in place? I know that I'll be able to take the rear bearing housing off to work on it and replace the front bearing and seal while it's on the car, but what about the intermediate shaft o-rings and anything else?
Would I be better off removing the transfer case as a whole to work on it?

i have no experience on disco 2, plenty on disco 1.
same transfer anyway.
the front and rear bearings are oil lubed.
the seals i have used have all been a greased seal. look at the seals when you get them. if they are meant to go in dry they will have a protective cover on the sealing surface which you remove prior to installing. if they are meant to be greased they will have a small spot of grease on the sealing surface.
tough call regarding removing the transfer. it would make doing the seals much easier but it is a big job in itself. this may/may not be the case with the D2
AFAIK they can all be done "in car"
the intermediate shaft fouls on the access cover for the centre diff lock return spring IIRC.
the other problem you will have doing it in car is keeping dirt from getting into the transfer case while you are working.
hopefully somebody with more knowledge can add to this
