The D2 TC isn't like other TCs, above certain RPMs the TC in the D2 will turn off anyway, I've had my D2 reving it's ring off in sand and mud.

Yep!!....Disco would not let me do any of that!!

As long as it's used well and especially if it's hooked up with cdl the etc is excellent in sand especially towing heavy loads through deeP soft stuff. Cheers

Either there is a problem, or your not reving it hard enough, there are a lot of guys on here that do a lot of sand work and wouldn't turn their TC off for anything, ozscott above is one, he will tell you it is one of the best things about the D2.

The TC in the D2 is throttle sensitive, to make it work well you need to feather the throttle, if you don't want the TC to work, you bury the boot and have it reving, as soon as you feel the car starting to move, you start easing off the throttle and let the TC start to do it's job.

From what I've read, in the D2a facelift models (with factory enabled diff lock) the traction control becomes less agressive when the centre diff is locked. ... my experience would confirm this. You've really got to push it hard to engage the traction control with the centre diff locked in sand.

I've never found it (TC) to be a hinderance in sand.
