Hi Rosscoe68, thanks for the information about removing the fuse box.
Did you remove all the fuses and disconnect all the cables, or did you disassemble it in the car?
The symptoms we have are:
The engine spins over with the starter but fails to start, when we use a spark plug tester there is no spark on either banks of the engine. Also, the fuel pump works and the injectors pulse. This seems like a CPS sensor failure, but it may be something else.
The fault codes are:
Fault: 236 P0600 CAN - Timeout EGS/Auto Transmission CM Signal Missing
This fault code is present permanently even when clearing the fault.
Fault 148 P1668 Anti-Theft Alarm System BCU/BeCM Serial Link Immobiliser Signal-CAN Data Bus
This fault is only intermittent.
We have also checked the earth next to the BCU which is tight.

i took the fuse box out of the car and then disassembled it.
i do recal after playing around with the fusebox the car wouldn't start, and i had read somewhere about resyncing the key so i gace it a try
it involved putting the key in ignition on position and leaving it on for about 5 minutes without trying to start the car.
apparently there is some sort of circuit in the fusebose that needs to sync to the BCU
anyhow that seemed to have done the job as after that it started straight away.
on my other car i have had the odd occasion where it would turn over but not start, and i would get out, lock the car with remote. let it sit for a minute, unlock and then the car would start. i imagine it is something to do with the engine immobiliser. not too long after that i ended up with a earth problem at the ecu, may have been related as after i fixed that earth problem, i havent had that same issue again.

no, i think i had to take all the fuses and relays out of the box.

Thanks Rosscoe68 about the fuses and relays. We have removed the fuse box and will remove the fuses and relays to check the PCB (printed circuit board). We will also clean the circuit board with CRC contact cleaner.
Spraying the electrical connectors with contact cleaner and leaving it to soak made a tremendous difference in removing the connectors.
