I hooked mine up to one of the ignition only fuses in the under dash fuse box.

For your volt meter you could use the same ignition source for the volt meter, it'll oly work with ignition then.

thanks Alien d2, pulled the stereo out again and pinched a wire which only activated with radio when ignition on, so working sweetly. not permanent yet but need to tidy up the wires so more. temp reads 75degrees celcius which is a bit hot i would have thought. thinking to set the engine saver to 80 degrees before the alarm sets off. cheers

75 seems Ok - my V8 sits on 72. The instructions say to set about 10-15 higher than warmed up engine temp. I would agree as on a warm day after a drive sitting in traffic mine can go to 80 - water temp stays on 80 through all the time.
