    Silicone intercooler hose slipping off

    Hi all,
My problem is that the short hose closest to the turbo keeps popping off due to the greasy nature off things in that area.

Give it a footfull to accelerate and the hose blows off.
Use gentle acceleration I.e lower revs and things go ok.

IF I tighten the worm drive clamp right up the it sort of squeezes the Hose back over the lip on the turbo pipe, and reduces the amount of hose that is "clamped" and thus there is not enough hose to give effect to the clamps pressure.

If I use less clamp pressure it blows off as described.

    What's the fix here please?

    New hose,

    Sorry iPad hassles

    New hose?
    New clamp?

Thought I might drill some holes in the clamp band to allow the hose to squeeze up into when clamp tightened to stop the hose slipping under the clamp?

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers
    Al.

I had the same problem went to enzed and purchased a D clamp much chunkier and gets better grip onto the silicon hose. Cleaned the hose and also the intake metal pipe to turbo of all oil and tightened it right up when cold, a couple more times after heated up then when cold again.

Oil (from the breather) can cause them to blow off.

try giving them a clean with a gentle solvent and where it clamps to the turbo.
