I've got 255/70*16 on the std carrier. You might squeeze a 245/75*16 on.
Invert the carrier & 265/75 or 235/85 are an easy fit with room to spare.
Anyone know what the largest diameter tyre is that will fit on the spare wheel carrier (after turning it upside down for greater clearance)? Particularly interested in what tyres sizes people have managed to fit with full, near new, tread (rather than someone whose managed to just fit an almost bald tyre).

35" with a bit if a stud mod![]()
265/75/16 Maxxis Bighorns - Near new and still a few mm clearance. That was after the carrier flip and repositioning of the wiper so it didnt hit the carrier.
Im running a 235/85r16 muddie, and there's still a little bit of room with the carrier turned upside down.
Flipped carrier and the bumper at its lowerest point on the bolts will fit a 255/85-16 which is a fraction larger than the 285/75-16.
