Retrofitting Volumetric Sensors - am I missing something

    Hi All,

I've just picked up a pair of good used Volumetric Sensors from eBay which arrived today. My D2 didn't have the sensor installed when I bought it and there are blanking plates in the mounting points.

This afternoon I pulled off the blanking plates expecting to find the connectors lurking behind the trim but it appears this is not the case.

Do I need to source the cables that run back to the BCU or will the cables and connectors be hidden in behind the head lining?

    cheers
    Paul

I don't know for sure but I would expect the plug is hiding nearby.

The reason for posting is to let you know you may have to turn them on with a Nannocom as it's an option in the BCU.
    Cheers, Kyle

Depending on what model year, the sensors can go in different places.
Centre of roof console-just below the interior light, L/H side above the "B" pillar trim & R/H/R cargo area just below the alpine glass.
As Alien has said, it is an option & will require to be turned on. The wiring itself is probably taped to the roof lining somewhere.
    Cheers

    Thanks guys,

I had checked with Nanocom (v1 with firmware 2.04) and the current setting for the Volumetric Sensors is "fitted". Is another of the inverted setting values in Nanocom?

It looks like I'll have to drop the headliner to have a look for the connectors. I've had a look through the mounting cut outs - passenger B pillar and near rear view mirror - and there is no obvious sign of the sensor connectors.

    cheers
    Paul
