hi all,
ok, so i have started looking on ebay for the parts required for the jobs at hand.
i have two questions...
Is there a particular seller on ebay that has everything far a land rover. currently i all the parts watched, but the are all from different supplyers
also when i was looking at clutches i noticed that there were Normal and heavy duty. i have done a search and see that HD is better for 4x4ing and towing. however, i would like some personal advice from a D2 td5 owner.
i will be towing a 1t ish boat, and possible light offroading.
Since my RAVE Cd seems to have disappeared, is there any chance you could send me a copy of the PDF version you have please?
D4 SDV6, a blank canvas
There is a version which is downloadable from many websites including Roverparts which has the same cover as the image you've attached and has 1529 pages. If you check the 2nd page it will have "Publication Part No. VDR 100330 NAS". This the North American version of the manual and doesn't cover the TD5.
The one you want has Workshop Manual in english and 6 other European languages on the front cover, and on 2nd page "Publication Part No. VDR 10090 ENG". I haven't seen it as a stand alone pdf, but even if it is available the benefit of the RAVE CD is that it has a large amount of additional information in the form of Technical Bulletins which are difficult to find on the web.
The problem with the RAVE pdf is that it is tied to a security key so can't simply be copied off. I've tried the usual trick of printing to a pdf but that generates postscript errors.
cheers
Paul
So any recommended ebay sellers?
would rather get it all from the same seller
Why not do it the old fashioned way ? Go into a store and talk to someone so they can get the parts for you. If your looking at doing the work yourself then you can just buy the parts, there are plenty of land rover mechanics in Perth who can help you sourcing the parts.
If your looking at ebay to save some money then you might buy the wrong part and waste the money you were trying to save when you have to purchase it again.
Heavy Duty clutches are heavier to operate, not ideal when your in stop / start traffic and your on and off the clutch.
The RAVE CD and the manual aren't the same thing, the Manual covers a good proportion of what you will need, but doesn't include the electrical diagrams whereas the RAVE CD is a combination of the Workshop manual, electrical diagrams and a bunch of other things.
I managed to find all 3 Rave CD's online as iso. files. i have now put them onto disks. Rave Disk one is for freelander and D2, i check that the number was 100090 ENG and it was. thanks for all your help.
However I did have one problem when trying to get the RAVE disks to work. i found that RAVE would only work with Adobe Acrobat 4, the version that came on the iso.
is this normal?
