What size Engel will fit in the back of the D2?

    Hi all,

i have been meaning to get an engel for the house, as an extra fridge freezer.
i want to get the 75l combo one but am unsure if it will fit in the back of the D2 with a drawer system and slide. normally i would wait till i pick up the D2 then measure, but a friend of mine is giving me a further discount of a already discounted engel, which will only last to 2 more days. so i need to know.

    thanks

I have the 80L Combination fridge freezer (same floorplan as the 60L but just taller) but I don't yet have my D2

I just measured up and the 80L combo (not sure if it's the same size as the fridge/freezer) and it's 860mm long, 520mm across and 540mm tall in the transit bag.

Hope it does fit front to back or that could stuff up my assumptions about the D2

It fits well in the back of a 120 Prado but without a slide (and still not on a drawer system) you have to hold the lid open with your hand while you get things out - you cannot flip it all the way open and leave it there - I think the back of a Disco is a little taller though ?

I used to fit a waeco 110 in the back length wise, had to remove the fridge and back door handles though.

I have a 47L ARB. It used to ride on the floor. Fitted with room to spare (end on). I think it's about 720/760mm long ? (420w x 530h) ??

It's now ontop of a drawer system (that's 350mm high) mounted to a platinum DS40 drop slide. The drop slide is as deep as the drawers, front to back, the fridge has about 40mm fore/aft movement in the slide tray .... the whole thing only _just_ fits (no barrier, drawers faces are hard up against inside of back door) with the folding handle of the drop slide just tucked into the rear window cavity.

The thing that's going to beat you at 860mm long, sitting ontop of the drawers, is the slope of the back seat ... then a slide (and it's a bit high with a non-drop slide), and the larger DS60 drop slide won't fit ...

I've just had a look at the Engel site at Engel Australia - Portable Fridge-Freezers
and oddly the dimensions are totally different for the 80L (they now call it the 75L (prob more accurate)) to the one I have in my dining room.

In fact I just double checked mine and actually its more like 880mm long with both handles in place - but about 810mm long with no handles attached (I guess in theory you could remove them if you are mounting it permanently in your car as long as you dont need them in place for securing it to tray.

So which is it Technophile, are you a home owner who needs a second fridge freezer or a Year 12 student planning to go to uni next year as you have claimed else where on here?

Or as it appears are you just someone who has trouble with telling the truth?

    cheers,

firstly, i did not say that i was a home owner. and even if i was, how does that stop me from being a year 12? perhaps my parents bought me a house. Or perhaps i am renting with some friends, and require another fridge that can be used in the house or in the car on trips.

Secondly, how have you come to the conclusion that i am a liar? you have stated two facts, non of which you can prove is true or not.

you are a prime example of what Australia has become, a culture that has become suspicious of every ones motives and actions. You also think that people act the same ways as you do. this is not so. as i am not Australian i do not have the these values. My values are in honesty and giving people the benefit of the doubt. So unless you can prove i am a liar, do not accuse me of such

thank you everyone, bar one, for you help.
    The Engel 74l combo is 561H, 790L, 390W. The Slide Measures 60H, 880L, 605W.

so really, if the 74l doesn't fit front to back in the boot, then i wont be able to get the combo. Because the next and only size combo down from the 75l is the 57l, which is still the same length.

First off I did not say you were a liar I asked the following question after again noticing more contradictions in a number of your comments.

"Or as it appears are you just someone who has trouble with telling the truth?"

You have contradicted yourself so many times in the short period you have been on here that it is nearly impossible to know what is correct and what is not.

This has nothing to do with what Australia has become, it has everything to do with credibility or lack of.

So again I will ask the question, "Or as it appears are you someone who has trouble with telling the truth?"

Respect is not a right, it has to be earned. It might be time to start earning some respect by proving your telling the truth.

    cheers,

you may not have called me a liar directly, but you did imply i was lying. "or as it appears?" what kind of **** is that. nothing i have said to date makes it "appear" that i am lying.

no i am not lying, and no i am not a liar
