Postage could be a killer, but the Auspost site isn't being particular helpful at this hour. Could be the lack of coffee.
20Kg by air/express post is about $450
2.0-2.5kg is $85
2.5-3 kg is $90
This is why I reckon sourcing one in the UK is going to be the go.

- for an extra 20gbp for no exchange I see as small (depending on return postage costs).
- there is usually savings through combined postage.
- the CDL embossed knob is not readliy available to my knowledge in Aus, a lot of us source our parts overseas anyway.
- the outright cost of 237.50gbp + postage seems fair to me.

Del i would be very interested if you start shipping to Australia, was only just looking at the Ashcroft ones last night. I'd like to go with one you sourced in the UK though, and could send my lever over after as the car is in use everyday. Let us know what you arrange. Maybe you should put up an ebay store, or an AULRO vendor thingo.

Its funny Will, ( and not what I was expecting ), but I,ve had WAY more interest from you boys over there, than I,ve had from the UK !.
I am seriously looking into shipping them over, and like all you guys, I am a Landrover ownwer/enthusiast, and would like to make the levers as affordable as I can, and still cover the considerable time and effort it takes to make them.
I am alsomindfull that IF I was to start selling them to you all, that this section of your forum is probably not the place to do it !. ( I dont want a tap on the shoulder from the " headmaster " )

I am very mechanical and was actually thinking about having a look at modifying mine and making my own, but if someone is interested in doing it and wants to make a dollar out of it i am happy to support them, allows me to do other things as well. I would urge you to become a vendor on AULRO and sell them to us over here, definitely worth it and i know a lot of people buy their parts from the UK (myself included). You'd just need to set up some sort of a Paypal account i spose and watch the order roll on in (if you can keep up LOL)
Also should add that most peopel would want you to include the CDL knob aswell as things like that are not easy to get over here, and the pedantic people probably want the little sticker too, but some of us aren't fussed.

Del, just thought i'd check to see that you knew of the differences for auto and manual cars, not sure if the part you are making is different though, just thought i'd check.

Hi Will.
The high/low lever,s are the same for the auto and the manual. ( as are the transfer boxes ).
I find the manuals are easier to fit the lever to, purely because you can completely remove the cover plate which makes drilling out the old rivets, and opening out the gear lever hole a lot less hassle. The plate can be removed from the auto, but this means unclipping the auto shifter cable, which can lead to a little nylon bush getting broken. When doing an auto, the cover plate can be moved enough over to get down to the transfer box to fix the cable, spigot arm and bracket, its just a little more tricky to drill out the old rivets and open out the gear lever hole while its still in the car.
If a lever is fitted to a facelift vehicle however, the hole in the cover plate does not need to be enlarged, as it is already central.
You can see this when looking at the high/low lever. On pre-facelifts the lever sits further over to left.
