Thread: Advice on niggles - windscreen leak and tail door latch

Don't know if it was me who mentioned that my screen was leaking post replacement but it is. Anyway, AAMI don't use Obriens they use Instant Windscreens (more like Instant ****Ups or Knobs R Us) broke gutter corners, and top gutter trim across the front plus wanted to screw the A pillar trims back in. Gave them thw part no's, they called to say they weren't available, told them to call Peter at Range Parts (who had them in stock) plus all the other parts and part no's for them.

Never got a call back. Called AAMI and they got Instant on the phone who claimed they had been out twice to repair it and I wasn't there (at work) so I faxed the work logs of my & visitor movements to AAMI and the screen mob showing they were never there.

In the end AAMI sent me a cheque for the parts and labour to have them fitted as per a quote I got from Land Rover and best part was it was in my name. Now it's started leaking, I had Obriens do a report to send to AAMI to get a repair done and Obriens also mentioned that when the last company had removed the screen they had cut the sealant out they had cut the end off the roof lining, so look out here comes new replacement for the tent.

You'd think, wouldn't you, that insurer recommended repairers would ba able to do a decent job?

I was well p'd off about the cracks in the scuttle trim as I only noticed it some time later. Long enough that I thought they'd just say "no, we didn't do that it must have happened since.."
