I've discovered the secret to having it recovered free. I had the windscreen replaced and post it leaking have had it re-sealed. However found that they cut from inside the car and cut the front edge off the roof lining. So here comes a free recover.

It’s not the glue, it’s the foam backing that deteriorates. So stapling has it's merits.....but I wouldn't do it.

my roof lining was fine till we put a new windscreen in it and it took the goose three attempts to seal it properly.
Had a truck load of water dripping from the top, now the roof lining is sagging in the sunroof area only.
Would love to fix it along the lines of the old 'stapler' trick but I like my truck too much to do that to it!

Any other ideas apart from staples or a replacement?

Yep, he should be paying for it - will cross that bridge when we get there.

Same as that the rear section in the 130 is sagging thinking of removing it and glueing that marine carpet to the compressed board lining, its been done many times before and looks good

I'd be hitting them up. Go to a upholsterer and get a report of water damage. Then go back.
