    teething problems

Hi all, finally bought myself my first Disco! (thanks to everyone for the advice over thlast coupla months). It is a 2003 V8 97000k's bog stock shopping trolly soon to be lifted, re-booted and en-loudened, love to hear the V8 a bit more. Dont know if the previous owner is having a bit of a giggle to himself now but i have since been told by my neighbors that when I'm at work the alarm goes off, a lot, for the last coupla days. Has anyone experienced alarm probs like this before?
I will try locking it with the key rather than with the button as TOPIx tells me this will then not enable the superlock and so the interior motion sensors will not be activated. I have had a bit of a search on this site for similar faults but no joy so far, I'll keep trying, but just thought I'd ask the question. Pretty stoked with the new toy so far though!
Oh yeah, alarm doesn't go off when I'm home, funny that.

I had the same problem once, when a reasonably sized moth get trapped in the car one night.
Eventually i found it, liverated it, and got peace back again.
Hopefully it is as simple as that for you ??

My TD5 has done this occasionally.

Have you left your windows ajar at all.

Or some sort of resonance at the workplace setting off the sensor and activating the alarm?

A battery going flat has also been known to cause similar problems.

Might pay to check the voltage at the battery, before you start the car & just check that it is up to scratch.

Mine used to go off regularly. Normally around 3.00am. Geez that horn is loud.
I disconnected one of the motion sensors and have not had a problem since. It just pulls out of the roof liner.
Try disconnecting them for a while and see what happens.

Not sure if I shoud start a new thread so I'll just continue with my "teething problems" one. As i mentioned at the thread starter I'm keen on getting some bigger tyres with a bit more of an aggressive pattern. I have been fossicking through the wealth of info here (good onya Aulro!) and 265/75/r16 sounds like the go for me. I understand a 2" lift would be needed so all up with the 32" tyres my Disco should stand 3 & 1/2 inches taller, this is gunna fit under the roller door, just.
Here's the thing that worries me and where I'm needing some help, according to the hieght chart on my drivers side visor the standard Disco should be 1980mm tall but I measured it just for ****s and giggles and it stands at 1935mm, it's sagged a bit. So when I raise it, the thing will not only go up to standard ride hieght but then another two inches on top of that and likely hit the roller door. Has anyone else gone with this tyre and lift combo, and if so what did the total hieght turn out to be?
    Thanks in advance...
