Electric leather seat replacement
Morning All
I have a 99TD5 7 seater with the lovely grey trim. We have taken her all over the place but SWMBO has a stuffed back and invariably going anywhere, while being there she really enjoys, getting there is a bit of a hard sell due to the drive. As fate would have it, Bruce Davis lent me his old HSE while D2 was in and she jumped in the front seat and the leather seats allowed her the range of movement making her declare "if the D2 had these....."
Do I have the overly unrealisitic expectation that its as simple as sourcing a seat of previously loved D2 front electric leather seats and its essentially plug in and play? Is there any trick for the unknowing...aka.me.
Should i expect the wiring to be pre existing in my current lovely, plug in the motors of the leather seats and we are away.
Lastly can i clarify the range of movement the D2 seats have. in-out, up-down arent the biggies. The deal breaker is the capacity of the seat to tilt up and down. When SWMBO sits in it, it needs to be able to have the front seat tilt up higher than where her non aging non expanding bum
(am I good or what!) sits against the back rest like the HSE did. Something with her spine that she needs to be able to lift her knees beyond parallel when sitting. We are forever sticking blankets or towels of something under her thighs near the knee to give the elevation and support she needs.
This is one of those if i fix it, we can go anywhere, anytime, drive forever, type things and I would be mightly please if I can fix it, as even after 25 years I do actually prefer her being around than not.
many thanks in advance

I did exactly this!
Almost plug and play - anyone with a Nanocom can activate the electric seat function for you.
I have pics, but no net access - using sons phone till Telstra sort their $h1t
Will post when I can.
And yes, they are very comfy! I have full leather now.

I fitted a set to our Disco, best addition ever.
All wiring is under the seats. There is a small loom from each seat to the side of the center console for the adjustments, which MUST come with the seats. If you buy a set of seats, see if the center console is included as it will save cutting a few holes in the plastic to mount these.
Also you may require a small relay for the fuse box under the bonnet and lastly you will need to activate these with a Nanocom or similar.
If you have all the bits the installation will only take an hour or so.
