    Yes, I agree they are not legal in most states unless they have been engineered (either when the vehicle was getting approval for sale in Australia or by an automotive engineer due to the modification).

    My point, by pointing out the use by Porsche, was that contrary to many people on the internets opinions, the hub adapters are not in themselves inherently dangerous. As you point out many race cars use them and Porsche use them on their very expensive and well engineered products. Often you read about how dangerous they are and so risky to use, but that is not true (except for the units missing the centre spigot for centering the wheel - they are dangerous).

    Doubt all you want, it makes no difference to me or the fact. I have seen numerous Falcons now with them engineered to run AU onwards wheels on pre-AU vehicles. Not every state is a complete Nanny state yet.
