    SLS Sagging Solution

    Thanks to advice gathered on this site, I was able to replace rear air springs on my 2000 Td5 Discovery 2 with relative ease.
    When removed, pressure testing with soapy water revealed numerous pinholes where the bags usually overlap, resulting in intermittant deflation when the compressor reached its duty-cycle and stopped pumping.

    I ordered Dunlop air springs from Paddocks UK - within days received them in remote WA for a total of 127 pounds including postage - a bargain. The bags sent are Contech, made in Germany, same as original ones, so I don't know where Dunlop comes into the equation...anyway I am more than happy.

    I note that numerous posters have ongoing problems with rear air springs, and would encourage them to do the same before the very expensive air compressor gives up the ghost from overuse.

    I also utilised the www.Discovery.uk link on this site for concise fitting instructions with descriptive pics, which made the job easy, quick, and safe.

    ...now I just have to regrow those two inches of height lost while driving 2000 odd km bouncing around on my (and the Disco's) arse!

    If those 2000k and probably a bit prior to that have cooked you compressor you should also be able to get one of those from the UK at a discount Vs a dealer in Oz. I hope you get away with it but those sort of miles with stuffed bags often seem to dramatically shorten the compressor life. Good luck.
