    transmission cooler

There appears to be a caravan in my near future
While the box has synthetic fluid now,
I would like to fit an extra cooler,,

    something serious,,
    along these lines--

I'd prefer something like this as I cant see why you'd want to heat up the rad--
or- get preheated air from the rad,,

    any thoughts?
    working solutions?

Where do you get that little beauty from and where are you planning on fitting it?

Neat idea ... serious cooler ... but where would you install it ?

It would need to be setup with a switchable thermostat otherwise I reckon it would seriously overcool the transmission when there is no excess transmission heat to shed.

... which begs the question ... just how big is said van potentially going to be ?

    Caravan...coming our way?

Can the lemon handle the van or is there new wheels on the horizon as well.

Would overcooling give you more gearbox drag/lower fuel economy?

You could always see if you can get hold of a 1980's Porsche 911 whale tail and mount it in that on the back door Other than that I'm out of suggestions as to where to mount it!

Why not mount it vertically on the front of your roof rack???

Might have to upgrade the pump a little, add a bit more fluid for the return lines, but it is doable...

18' is only a baby ... wouldn't a more tried and tested approach be sufficient with such a small van ?

... and, "undercooling" is the same as "overheating" .... I'm quiet sure that is possible
