Is there anyway of tightening things up a bit.
It would drive me crazy when driving on gravel
I get a rattle from the cup holders in the rear centre armrest, seats themselves seem fine.

I carry a bag of chicken feed on mine permanently. Great, except when the chickens get hungry.

Squab or back rest - continued

(Forgot to say in my post yesterday: refit the black plastic conical bump stops)
For the backrest being a bit wobbly I removed the entire seat, stripped it (heavy and tedious but not technically hard) unbolted the back and then built up with stick welding the wee tongue that locks the back upright. No more rattles or wobbles.
I wish I had seen the technical bulletin about eccentric washers – if they can be found or made, they would be easier than welding and filing.

The Loctite doesn't always keep them there, I have had to tack weld them in place.

What a great site you guys have got. Me and my 2003 D2 TD5 are sure to learn a lot. Actually joined because just back from Aus where a friend took me and my partner into the Woonangatta valley camping. Brilliant 4wd trip.
He is now planning to drive the Canning Stock Route next month, quite a serious drive it seems. Cheers
