    REAR SEAT RATTLES Fixable???????

I notice that when I travel on roads and there is a imperfection on the road service, my rear seats rattle, it seems like the locking catch is not holding the seat back hard enough, I mean you can rattle the seat by pulling and pushing it a little bit.
Is there anyway of tightening things up a bit.
It would drive me crazy when driving on gravel

Are you talking about the third row ones stored up back or the second row just rattling.

My third row rattle and I ignore it but I took a quick look once and remember thinking that you could either jam a bit of foam in or bend the latches just a little to hold them in tighter when stored.

My second row rattle as well.. I put foam behind the seat on the side... I was actually wondering if there is a proper fix for it...

There is a tech bulletin which covers fix to the 2nd row seats. It involved a collar with an off center hole and loctite. Bulletin 0039 from 1999.

You wouldn't have a link for it? I couldn't find it in google.

    Squab or backrest?

I had the same issue and fixed the squab by removing the black plastic conical bump stops on the underside and inserting 1 or 2 fender washers so that the catch takes up with less play.
I'll try to remeber what I did for the backrests and post it tomorrow.

This didn't work well enough on mine, but a block of sponge as already mentioned did the job well.

I have given up on mine - the single seat rattles only when folded forward, tried rubber, foam, wedges jammed in everywhere. And it defies all my attempts to dismantle the covers and see inside.
    Watching this thread with interest.....
