Thumbs up Brand New Maxxi' Bighorns

Got my new set today after about 60k, no punctures on the old set and that after putting them through Hell on many occassions.
I've kept 3 out of 4 as spares as they still have 'more than legal tread', so they can be carried (well probably 2 of them) when we finally get to do our Flinders trip (we were supposed to be there now).
I know some here don't hold these tyres in high regard but honestly, at more than $120 a tyre under the BFG equivalent these have been bloody great. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants a tough, hard wearing and effective mud tyre at a reasonable price.
    BTW mine are 235/85/16's.

Those that don't hold in high regard are dimwits . On my second set...first lot did over 70,000 and 20 odd off road trips......tough as nails and great on and off road. Now onto 2nd set....love em, wouldnt even consider ATR with this sort of tyre around..

    Regards

    Stevo

I have had a similar experience with mine (255/85-16). A surprisingly long-wearing tyre. I might be able to squeeze 80k km out of mine (5 wheel rotation).

IME all maxxis tyres are excellent.

I have a set of bighorns in 245/75 r16 and they are brilliant. They aren't too noisy for a muddie, wear extremely well (17,000 kms in) and are excellent off road. They also look cool on my truck.

    Cheers,

Yep i'm running 265/75/16s on mine and had them on for a year, running nicely and not as noisy as other muddies around, haven't had a problem yet, so I'd recommend them especially for the price

    Wardy thats impressive...

Bit of advice, if you run the correct pressures you wont need extra spares in the Flinders We do day trips in there all the time

I have a swt of Bravos, and have nearly about 55k on them with still lots of meat in the tread. Not as aggressive as the bighorns, but are tough. I did put a stake through a sidewall on one of them which had only done about 10k.
