plastic pipe

can someone tell me what this pipe is,I looked down behind the drivers side exhaust manifold [4lt v8] there is a small pipe that has been melted.pitchered is the semi circle bit that is melted,both ends seem to go to the top of the auto gearbox i can only feel them by hand,not sure why they go anywere near the manifold,obviousley they are supposed to attach to something but what.

Probably the transmission breather.

Thanks Ron,I think you are right just the pipes dont seem to be long enough to reach the clips near the tappet cover.Might try joining them with some of that "spaghetti line"that is used on garden irrigation.

The clips on the tappet covers look like these they are for the ignition leads.

I was thinking this clip that has 2 holes,seems a silly place to place plastic pipes on an engine block.

I think they are ignition lead clips. too.

I think the top pic is the one melted,not the end but the loop pictured just below it,wonder what that does.

Change of subject, fitted them shocks yet ?

Dont know about the v8 so cant help identifying the pipe.
