but the thing is the HDC and TC isnt working
I will throw my 2 bobs worth in. For the abs sensor get a multi meter and check continuity on the wires up to the plug. They have form for bracking. If you **** a broken wire i have cut and rejoined them with no problem. Tap on the top of the sensor till it bottoms out they are self adjusting and it may have moved out a bit.
well here we go on the continuing saga, took it back to dealer, couldnt find his scan tool plug, these are supposed to be a 4wd specialist yard?, he checked all the usual things fuses etc, he says oh well must be a wheel sensor I'll order one, he couldnt tell me why the ABS doesnt come on as a warning light as I drove down a wet road and applied brakes hard and locked the tyres up, he did agree that there is a definite fault (Oh really einstien), I dont have much confidence in him and am loath to leave the car there but warranty is warranty, I'm begining to suspect D2andrew maybe closer to the truth, My first Land Rover and I'm already problem solving, Is there any one in Brissy with a scan tool that would like to have a look for me so at least ive good some ammo when I take it back, I have noticed that there is a couple of plugs lying under the ABS unit that go no where, I have no idea what im doing with all this electronics stuff, I assume a slab or bottle of something would go your way for your assistance
cheers
Ken
can you post up a pic of the plugs under the abs unit
ye I'll try and get a couple up when I get home, at work at moment
cheers
you can manually check the sensor yourself--
jack the offending wheel just off the ground, start car and at idle select first so wheel is spinning,,
does the speedo move?
if yes, sensor is fine.

I am in the same boat at the moment (three amigo's) scanned faulty RHS sensor which I suspect is the squealling brake pad on that side. I have already replaced the hub and bearing in the last six months, so hoping it is just a clean of the sensor (although probably up for new pads and rotors). My ABS continues to work although lights are on but reduced braking performance and pedal feel.
My TD5 has had a very expensive six months:
front propshaft
alternator
exhaust manifold and studs
now three amigos (I am hopeful that this will also stop a strange noise in the front end that we have been unable to diagnose - which may application of brakes from faulty sensor on decleration)
