Is it easy to then do a 2" lift while keep an air bag rear end?
X 2 !!
... and you maintain your self levelling capability

Really simple. see Urban Panzer's excellent write up here
www.discovery2.co.uk / 2" Suspension lift
There is a recent thread on sources for the parts for your SLS rear. Just need to check your shock extended length. For years I had OME shocks, cant remember the model with no issues but recently changed to Koni's with a considerably longer extension. Now risk overextending the ABS lines so will lengthen those when I get the time.
Good luck and it's a great ride, wouldn't change it.

My research results on the lift with sls question.
Anything greater than 40mm is recomended to include modifying to longer shocks and brake/abs lines, lowering bumpstops and lowering the front cross bar to avoid the front shaft hitting it on max extension.
Bilstein make custom shocks for front and rear sls that bolt straight in and cope with up to 40mm lift
Dobinson make front springs that advertise as standard 20mm lift but i found that with arb winch bar and winch fitted these springs gave just under 30mm lift.
So I have fitted a set of 40 mm sls spacers and ht sensor adjusters from uk and fitted the dobinson front springs and bilstein shocks. I used the nanocom to adjust the rear height to give about 30mm lift to match the front.

The result, combined with larger mud tyres provides a substantial increase in standard clearance, you can still operate the sls off road mode (+40mm more lift for rear off road) and no work on brakes abs cross member reqd.

"just some info re the 994/995 bilstein shocks v stock heights mentioned earlier.
The "standard LR shock on SLS rear is 570/360. open/closed"
But when the sls is let down to the bumpstops the shock only closes to 420! I measured it.
the "extended" BE5B994 (front) are 618/388 and BE5B995 (rear) are 615/390.5mm , opened/closed respectively.
so in the extended bilsteins there appearrs to be enough extension for a 40mm lift of the sls. and they close enough for the 420mmm physical down limit
(According to the counter guy at heasmans in sydney (yesterday) the billy 994/5 is their part number, they developed the shocks specifically for a 40mm lifted sls D2 that is still capable of using off road mode height?)
(If stock 570mm top out handles off road mode height, 618mm in the billies should handle 40mm lift and off road mode right?)
I have an ARB bar and winch and fitted the dobinson C51-032 springs which gave a hub centre to fender measure of 525mm at the front, should settle to about 520mm. ( I tried the C51-42 but they gave 545mm hub to fender)
When i pump up the sls without spacers to give a 90mm bumpstop clearance (30mm lift) the car sits about level, just above the "stock slight nose down attitude".
I aim to put in a 40mm lift spacer under the sls and adjust the height with nanocom so as to be able to use sls off road mode.
so the bilstein/dobinson combo is good for improved ride (still soft but firm and way less body roll) and smallish lift if you dont want to get involved with longer brake/ABS lines and crossbar spacers etc." and you can still use the off road mode sls height increase function without fear of over extending the sls air bags. LR automotive supply bumpstop lowering brackets and cross member lowering brackets if you feel the need.
And its an easy job to do yourself over a few hours, i used some tie down ratchets to compress the bilstein shock pre charge to enable one person fitting other wise you probably need an apprentice to help fit them.
Cheers
