And the original leads did fit this way, with re arranging the plug positions? Or did you need to get longer plugs?

clubagreeni i will remove the plemum as i want to give everything a good cleanout anyway.like the idea of the engine mounts but.just thinking that the coils moved to the alt area may allow to enter easier, although a lot easier to dry out.

Do the engine mount method anyway because you will drop the small bolts holding the coil packs onto the rear of the plenum, never to be seen again. The coils have to come off first to remove the plenum (as far as removing the bolts at least) and don't bend the bracket because then it'll all be over. It doesn't ever line back up with the holes. And removing the plenum is easier with the extra clearance above the plenum to the firewall.

If the engine mounts are stuffed let me know and I'll send through details on how to use D1 mounts instead and save a couple of hundred dollars

I reckon previous owner had to get at least 2 very long leads to reach LHS rear

If you do this mod keep the leads away from the throttle cable - I had one jam the throttle on full at 120km/hr overtaking a semi on a quiet country road - underpants change time

You can buy the fittings and make your own leads else you can buy them pre-made (but set lengths).

I'm looking at going to a piggyback comp for fueling and aftermarket coilpacks (multiples as original) that can fit on the inner guards. The controller for the coils can be programmed to run the correct firing sequence still with either multi or single coils.

Ebay is your friend for the plugs, need both male and female x 2 each and pins as well. Askt for some extra pins and you might need some practice in crimping them. search for coil or coilpack pins, fittings, terminals etc. I actually found them randomly rather than a direct search.
