I got one (SI Disco) for my TD5 auto from the wreckers in Adelaide, cost about $25. Had to do some fabrication on the trans tunnel to remount the selector cable but for a manual it is straight forward to put a SI Disco genuine transfer case set up in.
If your interested I'm happy to go to the wreckers to get another one and you can pay me back for it.
A mate an I go down there frequently just to look around.

I'm just in search of a lever from the top of the box and then I'll make something up myself to operate it.
LT230 box is in many different LR vehicles so it shouldn't be hard to find or expensive. I was just searching for one from a D2 but now my search has widened.
Happy Days.
I've made various "tests"...
The travel isn't the issue as you might think, unfortunately that little gearbox has some plastic gears inside and they can't take the beating.
Much more reliable is the window winder motors, electric seat motors (nice actuation), solnoids and best is air rams.
Having to just push a button for CDL is very nice... and when the motors and cabling are well sealed they're actually quite reliable.
If your electric one still works as well as the vacuum one in my 31 year old Rangie, in 31 years, I'll buy you a beer...
I have an air compressor on board for my SLS with and air tank so I will go air operarted when I get around to it. I just need the lever from the top of the box and then I will work the rest out.
Happy Days
Keen on a vac operated one. Is that standard on the Rangie?
Joal any progress on the air operated one ? I was thinking the same of using the SLS compressor.
