Ive got this kit, it works well, just never figure out how to seal the second lever against dust etc.
Still it served me well on my last. I havent installed it on my new one yet.

I know this thread is focused on the lever actuated CDL but my D2 has an AMV Electronic CDL kit fitted (prior to my ownership) and it has another trick up its sleeve.
Engage EDCL with engine running and ABS and Traction Control are active, but if one has engaged EDCL and switches off engine, then upon restart ABS and TC is disengaged. This is useful on loose surfaces.
Just another perspective.

It's not so much a feature as an error state. There is a wire cut mod so that this does not happen. From my experience there is no surface that does not benefit from ETC and diff lock acting together.

Except maybe bitumen :) and long soft lumpy sand hills that need lots of momentum. Diff lock only gets me to the top every time , this is with the d2 with the more aggressive etc though.
I agree on etc but try towing trailer loads of wood off road in steep slippery stuff, jam on the brakes because you didn't make it up the slippery bank then the anti lock brakes fire and you go backwards with no way of stopping other than ripping on the hand brake. I turn it off in these situation.
Also heard sand it isn't that great for, but haven't had my d2 in sand yet, we couldn't make it up a dune with ETC in a trition we had to turn it off.

Psst. Hey, he just compared a D2 to a triton. Heretic! :D
Pricey
Nooooo......
lol
No comparison!!! the Triton was hopeless...... we took it back to camp and grabbed the Disco classic I had to make it into where we were going, my sisters rav 4 was doing a better job in the dunes than the Triton and made it to our destination.
Was just using it as it is the only experience I have had with traction control in soft sand.
:)
I have towed off road and in very soft sand in D1, D2, 110 etc. I have driven the D2 without CDL and just ETC, D2 with just CDL and finally CDL with ETC....there is no doubt that driven properly the combination of CDL and ETC is a weapon in sand. It is also the best way to go off road.
