Thanks for sharing your project... Love your work, I will find some spare time to model the side slider and produce fabrication drawing for whoever is keen to have a go themselves.

What material did you used? Stainless or just black pipe?

You could go stainless and theyd look great when clean, but i reckon they'd be a PITA to ceep clean. If you lived on the beach, then it would be a great idea to do staimless. For me though id do yours in black (steam ) pipe.

They look great Toppa. Love the satin black - looks much better than the gloss black ones on my old D2.

Stainless is not too bad to keep clean - I have stainless ones now on the D4.

But personally - I think that the satin black looks better on a D2 than stainless ones would.

Just finished off a set of steps I made for my D2. Theyre based on the ARB ones although I dont have the plastic door sills on my car so the step goes all the way into the body. (theyre 150mm wide) They attach to the chassis in the same manner as the ARB ones and theyre finished with aluminium checker plate. This was my first attempt at welding so hopefully none of welds decide to chuck it in at any time!
