Td5-no cruise control after transfer case replacement?

Yesterday i installed a defender td5 transfer case as i run 255/85 16's on daily basis.
I went for a test ride, all well but cruise control is not working,as far as i know, the td5 ecu isn't connected to the gearbox or transfer case except the hi-lo switch,so what confuses the whole system?
I plan on getting a truespeed device as the speedo is 13%+ out, will this corect the cruise control issue also?
    Thanks.

Is the speed sensor not located on the transfer case? I have heard of the cruise not working with taller gearing conversions. I would guess the engine rpm and road speed don't match what the ecu thinks is possible. I wonder if there is some kind of setting that can be changed (defender/discovery) in the ecu perhaps with a nanocom? (been a while since I owned a Defer and I don't have the nanocom anymore)

    Cheers,
    Fraser

D2 takes speed data from the ABS, there is no sensor on the transfer case. Maybe the system is upset because engine revs to road speed data is incorrect.

Forgot to say that i have manual gearbox,so no input signals (as per auto) from gearbox to ecu, only one signal from slabs ecu to engine ecu where a calibration device like truespeed can be connected.
    So where is the "glitch"?

    Clutch switch?

I haven't touched anything else,i installed the transfer case by my own (at my parking with a big trolley jack!).
I 'll plug a friend's nanocom to check the switches (clutch, cruise control set+,reset etc) sometimes the slabs-bcu settings get upset with no obvious reason!
    Thanks.

Fatman, there was a thread a couple of years ago where someone had fitted an "overdrive" type transfer case and had the same problem, perhaps if you could find that and PM the person? Maybe they could help? It is strange though, because the cruise works fine in Defenders and Discos......must be a setting somwhere - maybe have a "dig around" with the Nanocom.....

Definitely the case and HDC is also affected for the same reason - the ECM cannot work out which gear is being used.

So i have to correct the speed signal - and i guess it has to be done prior the slabs ecu(as per slunnie's alternative conection description).
After the transfer case swap, the revs with 33's became close to revs with stock transfer case and 29's,so the missing link is the (corrected)speed info the td5 ecu has to get.

I was reading the workshop manual and i was wondering how the heck the ecm knows what gear am'i in,since there is no such sensor on the manual gearbox....
now i get it - thanks.
