Short answer yes... But Why not sav yourself the cost of a new unit plus mapping osts and just get your current NNN ecu reflashed to sit the VNT. Surely BAS can do this for you all you need is access to a to load the file.
Cheers
I obviously currently have an ECU in my TD5 D2a. It's currently has a modified TD5Inside map to NNN ECU appled by disco_thrasher ( td5 INSIDE The ultimate solutions for remapping TD5´s ).
Now I'm making the move to a VNT for the TD5 (kit from Bell Auto Service) and as such will need to have the ECU reflashed with a tune to suit the VNT.
Seems a waste of my current ECU with it's custom tune that cost $440.00. Is it able to be fitted to another different vehicle?
Am I correct that the NNN ECU's are from the later D2a and can be reflashed while the MSB ECU's are from the earlier D2's and cannot be flashed, but rather require the chip replaced?
Can a NNN ECU be fitted to an earlier D2?

BAS are going to charge me to reflash my ECU with the VNT tune (GBP 345.00) - I should be able to do this remotely with my Nanocom Evolution. So that would override the current tune on there - which seems a waste of the $440.00 it cost. I figured if it could benefit someone else I'd rather swap ECU's with them and flash a standard ECU with the VNT tune.
The NNN ECU's are interchangeable but the D2a TD5 motor has differences - higher injector pressure being one - which mean the remap designed for the latter motor won't perform correctly on a D2 originally fitted with a MSB ECU.
This thread is exactly a year old today. My ECU issues have all been sorted long ago.
